2018-19 K&R Dance Studio Policies
A yearly non-refundable registration fee of $50 per family is due at the time of registration. A student is not considered registered for class until this fee has been paid.
Tuition remains the same regardless of how many classes a student misses.Tuition will only be prorated for new students for the month they register. Tuition is on automatic draft through EFT (checking) or Credit Card (Visa/MC/Discover)
We offer discounts per student, not per family (with the exception of registration and recital fees). If you dancer signs up for a 90 minute combo class along with a 45 minute specialty class, they get a $20.00 discount. Online registration will not show the discounts added in. They can only be applied once you are officially registered.
Tuition and the annual recital fee are the only items on auto draft at this time. Families must maintain valid credit card of EFT details on their account using the K&R Customer Portal and must also complete and sign an automatic draft credit card or EFT (checking) draft release form.
We do not deduct for classes missed due to illness, vacation, holidays, etc. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis if a student has a medical condition that restricts physical activity. A doctor’s note must be submitted before a credit can be issued. Credits can be used for future classes at K&R. Students who drop after classes begin must provide written notice 30 days prior to dropping class. Tuition charges are based on the date of written notice, not the last class attended. Dancers who enroll and then decide to drop class may have unused tuition credited to their account for future classes at K&R. Creditcs can only be transferred amongst family members only.
Costume fees differ according to the class they are in. It is necessary to order costumers no later than Jan. 5th to ensure that we have them in stime for spring performances. Costume fees are nonrefundable after Jan. 7th. If your costume fees are not paid, your costume will not be ordered.
Each family will accessed a recital fee of $100. This fee is due by Feb. 15th. This fee helps cover auditorium rental, sets, lighting, props, musci, etc. For our annual show, recital opt-out students who to wish to opt-out of our annual recital must let the studio know by writing by Dec. 10th. Without written notice, the students will be assessed both costume and recital fees.
RETURNED (NSF) FEE
A $35.00 service charge will be applied to your account when any payment is returned for any reason. Statements are sent via email only. Please make sure you keep a valid email address on file with us.
MAKE-UP CLASSES/MISSED CLASSES
It is necessary that students attend classes on a regular basis for skill development. If a student misses a class, it can be made up within one month of the date missed. Make-up classes are discontinued after instructors begin teaching dance recital routines. Once routines have started, students may schedule private lessons with instructor if needed. Please have your child wait inside the studio until you have arrived to pick them up. This is to ensure their safety.
Please be aware of regularly scheduled studio closings. Schedules are available on the website and at the studio.
Inclement weather: If you are unsure of studio closings due to bad weather, please check out the home page (www.kandrdance.com) or call the studio at 817-431-2989.
All dance rooms but one have observation windows. The 4th room has a TV monitor. Parents are not allowed into the room while classes are going. It is very hard to keep dancers attention when this happens. We ask that you do not stand in the window videoing your dancer. Children often see their parents in the window and it truly is a distraction for the teacher and the rest of the class.
K&R reserves the right to change or cancel any offered classes due to lack of registration.
CLASSROOM AND WAITING ROOM ETIQUETTE
K&R DRESS CODE
“Look The Part – Be The Part!”
A dress code helps to make dance class feel special, which it is! A dress code also makes it possible for the teachers to clearly see the student’s line and placement.
We expect all dancers to wear form fitted dance attire.
